Grupo Vidanta Earns the Socially Responsible Company Distinctive for the Second Year in a Row

Mexico City, March 12th, 2020: Grupo Vidanta—the leading developer of luxury resorts and tourism infrastructures in Mexico and Latin America—has always believed in the creation of experiences that honor and respect the natural beauty of Mexico and that promote the development of local communities. Out of this dedication, the company earned the Socially Responsible Company Distinctive, granted by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), for the second consecutive year.

Over the years, Grupo Vidanta has consistently followed strict policies and protocols that ensure the protection and conservation of the environment, as well as supporting the development of the surrounding communities.

Additionally, Grupo Vidanta is continuously implementing actions and initiatives that align with the Great Place to Work Institute®, and has been recognized as a top place to work in Mexico for the past 10 consecutive years. Furthermore, five of the Vidanta destinations are EarthCheck certified and in 2019 Vidanta Riviera Maya was the first resort destination in Mexico to receive EarthCheck Master Certification, which has been granted to only 21 places around the world. Grupo Vidanta has also created non-profit organizations such as the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation in 1988—which helps to promote education and child development in Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta—and the Vidanta Foundation in 2005—an institution that promotes social wellbeing in Latin America, disseminates democratic values, and supports initiatives that help to reduce poverty and inequality.

The Socially Responsible Company Distinctive, according to the CEMEFI, "accredits companies that voluntarily and publicly assume the commitment of implementation and continuous improvement of socially responsible management, as part of their culture and business strategy. These companies reflect said commitment in their policies, strategies, and programs, integrally considering all areas and levels of action within the company.”
