THE CIRQUE DU SOLEIL JOYÀ SHOW AT VIDANTA RIVIERA MAYA CELEBRATES WORLD THEATER DAY

The Cirque Du Soleil Joyà show at Vidanta Riviera Maya Celebrates World Theater Day

25 / Mar / 2022

Mexico City, MX - March 25, 2022 - As part of the 60th anniversary of World Theater Day, Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ – Cirque du Soleil's first resident show outside the United States and a pioneer in including a gastronomic experience – invites all theater lovers to celebrate, for 80 uninterrupted minutes, with a multisensory experience led by artists of 15 different nationalities at Vidanta Riviera Maya.

“At Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ, every day we celebrate theater, in every performance, in every act and in every rehearsal, because every time the curtain goes up, we have the opportunity to share the magic that is created during our show with the people who accompany us. Congratulations to the entire theater community that makes this celebration possible”, said Norma Suárez, Director of Hotel Operations at Grupo Vidanta.

World Theater Day was celebrated for the first time in 1962 and for 24 hours, the performing arts become the protagonists through actresses, actors, directors, writers, productions, audiences and each one of the people who make it possible the show has been going on for centuries.

Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ has made its contribution to the theater from a creative vision, where extraordinary gastronomic options are mixed with the performing arts in a stage that envelops the audience, linking their five senses with a unique story inspired by Mexico in which a young woman explores an inhospitable place -a jungle-, located in a universe created by her grandfather, someone who constantly seeks the meaning of life through his love of nature and with a great metaphor of adventure that represents the migration of the butterfly monarch.

It is a "feast for the senses", in which Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ attendees enjoy a sumptuous reception from the moment they arrive at the complex, which serves as a prelude to the show: a Mayan ritual of fire on the water outside the Vidanta Theater and corridors that lead to its interior with a magnificent jungle setting.

Since its curtain rose, Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ has had thousands of successful performances and almost a million spectators, all thanks to an atmosphere of magic and fantasy that visitors to Vidanta Riviera Maya can enjoy while celebrating World Theater Day.
